Active8 Sheffield and SHCFA’s women’s 6-a-side league gets underway tonight, Thursday 23rd February 2012, under the floodlights at King Edwards Community Sports Centre. We have 7 registered teams, which should make for an exciting and competitive start for many leagues to come. The opening fixtures this evening sees the imaginatively named Bend it like Victoria up against Sheffield University WFC A, and Handsworth Ladies kicking of their campaign against the Hallam Harriers. Our other 3 entries Sheffield University WFC B, Badgers FC and Leg-ends will get the ball rolling with their first match during next weeks programme of fixtures.
Kick off is at 6.05pm and then the games begin. We are looking forward to a fantastic event, which paths the way for a bright future for women’s football and strong partnership between Active8 Sheffield and SHCFA.
Thank you for everyone who has supported us in the run-up!
Good luck to all who have entered! May the best team win!
