Nathan Reid – Support Services Manager
Nathan is an experienced member of the Interserve team as he as been with the business since January 2004. Starting on a part time basis working in our four community sports centres, he has rapidly become a very successful and integral part of the progression of Active 8-Sheffield. In 2006 Nathan stepped up to a full time role as Leisure Supervisor, taking on more responsibilities and having an increased say in how the centres operate. Following this short spell as Leisure Supervisor Nathan was promoted into the position of Assistant FM – Community & Leisure in 2007 which provided him with the opportunity to develop the business further in the years to follow. Nathan has since been promoted into the position of Support Services Manager in October 2015 and now manages a number of areas within the Interserve group on the Sheffield contract.
Nathan has a degree in Leisure Events Management and a Masters in Sports Business Management, he also holds several coaching and non coaching qualifications which range from Sports Leadership to Managing Safely. Nathan is also reading for his PhD on a part time basis. He continues to make impressive strides in his role and is keen to continue his own development as well as those who work alongside him which will see Active 8-Sheffield continue to flourish in the future.
Emma Johnson – Marketing & Events Co-ordinator
Emma became a member of Interserve in September 2013 as a casual leisure assistant working mainly at Tapton and King Edwards VII community sport centres. Emma has since moved onto become our Marketing and Events Co-ordinator in November 2015.
Emma graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2013 with a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science as well as gaining an MSc in Sport Business Management in September 2015. Emma will be focussing on increasing the awareness and knowledge of our facilities to the community whilst also creating greater exposure of the Active 8 Sheffield brand within the neighbouring areas. Emma is also continuing to develop our events and marketing opportunities which have increased significantly in the last year whilst also working closely with our Support Services Manager to improve our business development.
Junior Smith – Bookings Co-ordinator
Junior previously worked as a leisure assistant in 2004 – 2006 on a part time basis, working across our four community sports centres leaving the business for career development. Junior returned to Active8-Sheffield in June 2014 as our Bookings Co-ordinator and has a wealth of experience inn customer service. Junior has used his experience within the sporting sector to raise awareness of Active8-Sheffield and the facilities we provide in the last year. He works closely with the Leisure Supervisor and the Marketing & Events Co-ordinator to continue building the brand of Active8-Sheffield whilst ensuring he continues to deliver a quality service for our third party users.
Joe Grimwood – Leisure Supervisor
Joe is another example of how the business continues to invest in their staff and promote from within as he became a member of the team in January 2014 starting out as a part time leisure assistant working mainly at our Fir Vale and Ecclesfield community sports centres. Following a short period on the administration department Joe was promoted into the role of Leisure Supervisor in November 2015.
Joe holds a degree in Outdoor Recreation and Adventure Tourism from the University of Derby, Buxton campus and has a number of exciting ideas to further develop the provision we currently offer. Joe’s role is to supervise the leisure assistants and ensure that the service provided to the customer is at the highest standard. He also continues to work closely with both the Bookings Co-ordinator and Marketing & Events Co-ordinator to ensure our service is as efficient as possible.
